Business Development Manager
Michael Collins
Yorkshire and North East
Michael has a strong history of supporting SME and mid-market firms, with a specialist knowledge of complex debt structures and a focus on delivering exceptional service.
Some of Michael’s career highlights include a £4m FID facility to support recruitment for a Cheshire-based manufacturer and a £10m ABL for a North-East producer of cleaning equipment.
Principal
Julian Hornby
London
Julian has strong commercial lending experience, with specialist knowledge of the consumer retail, technology and media sectors. Career highlights include a £5m facility for social-first publisher Jungle Creations and a £10m facility for a digital freight forwarding start-up.
He was also part of the GapCap team, which was acquired by the Growth Lending Group in 2020, bringing with him first-hand experience of the transition from start-up to scale-up.
Business development executive
Gemma Pyne
London
Having two dogs and a daughter means that Gemma’s weekends are spent trekking around local parks, which almost always ends with her juggling a scooter, twigs and child. She enjoys interior design, from upcycling to making flower boxes from scratch, and recently discovered a hidden talent for darts.
Regional director
Tom Stewart
London and Midlands
Tom enjoys city life, catching up with his network and socialising with friends. He’s also a keen sportsman who plays competitive football and golf at the weekends, and once a year, he can be found escaping London with a backpack.
Principal
Vicki Taylor
North West
A keen runner with marathons under her belt, Vicki loves escaping to the Lake District and is planning to walk all 214 Wainwrights. She is teaching herself (slowly) to play the piano and remains a 1990s indie girl at heart, forever praying that Oasis will reform.
Principal
Kelvin Thomas
South West and Wales
Kelvin has significant and broad sectorial experience, having supported numerous management teams and stakeholders with buy-outs, buy-ins, restructuring and scaling and has expertise in structuring complex, multi-asset class facilities.
He actively seeks to engage with external partners and funders to best-support the aspirations of growing businesses and in his spare time sports-mad Kelvin is a keen golfer, regularly plays tennis and enjoys skiing – as well as the après!
Commercial director
Jack Trowbridge
London
Still holding on to his aspirations of making it as a professional sportsman in some shape or form, Jack can often be found on the football pitch, tennis court or golf course, slowly coming to terms with reality.
Portfolio manager
Rob Adams
London
Rob has a keen interest in sports, albeit largely from the comfort of his sofa or the pub. He enjoys cycling and kayaking, as well as attending his fair share of music festivals and gigs. He finds cooking therapeutic and often suffers from wanderlust.
Funding manager
Danni Brooks
London
Danni is a born and bred Londoner – and Tottenham Hotspur fan – who is happiest when spending time with her family and friends. She recently discovered a love of cooking and has mastered a roast dinner, although people who know Danni would probably not label her as quite the chef… yet.
Funding manager
Max Cheveley Grayson
London
Since joining the Growth Lending team, Max has worked with a number of clients in the media sector, developing a strong knowledge of the challenges facing these businesses.
Beginning his career in the hospitality industry, Max has since immersed himself in all things FinTech and has a Foundation qualification from UK Finance.
Funding manager
Charlotte James
London
Charlotte prefers the company of others, but when she is on her own, she will often be listening to or playing music (there are few musicals that she has not seen). You are also likely to find her petting any dog that happens to walk by – the fluffier, the better.
Funding manager
Tom Parke
London
Tom loves keeping active, whether he’s surfing, cycling or playing hockey, and recently cycled 500 miles around the north coast of Scotland. To relax, he enjoys nothing more than a good film and working his way through a family bag of Minstrels.
Portfolio manager
Johan van der Walt
Bristol
With more than a decade of experience in audit and portfolio management, Johan’s specialist knowledge spans a range of sectors, including food and beverage, manufacturing, back-to-back lending, insurance and power and utilities.
Johan also has extensive experience looking after distressed businesses. Additionally, Johan was the inaugural winner of Growth Lending’s much-coveted MVP award!
